Porchfest is a neighborhood music festival launched in 2021, featuring live performances on porches throughout Virginia Highland. Held annually on the Saturday after Mother’s Day.
Winterfest & Tour of Homes is an annual holiday celebration featuring the Jingle Jog 5K, Holiday Parade, Gift Market with 80+ vendors (including young entrepreneurs), and Kids Corner. New in 2025, the Virginia-Highland Civic Association’s Tour of Homes joins the weekend festivities.
The Murphy’s Tree Lighting is another beloved Virginia Highland tradition. Each year on the first Thursday in December, Murphy’s kicks off the season with the lighting of their Christmas tree atop the restaurant, complete with caroling, hot cocoa, and even a visit from the Clauses.
Yes! Meet us at the VaHi Farmers Market on Sunday mornings. Established in 2024, the market hosts 30 rotating vendors and produce farmers plus live music in the Highland Woodworking parking lot.
