Winterfest & Tour of Homes

Celebrate the holiday season with a weekend full of VaHi traditions, including a festive parade, Jingle Jog 5K, gift market, kids corner, and tour of picturesque homes dressed up for the season. Gather with neighbors, shop local, and experience the charm of the district.

What is Porchfest?

Porchfest is a neighborhood music festival launched in 2021, featuring live performances on porches throughout Virginia Highland. Held annually on the Saturday after Mother’s Day.

How does VaHi celebrate the holidays?

Winterfest & Tour of Homes is an annual holiday celebration featuring the Jingle Jog 5K, Holiday Parade, Gift Market with 80+ vendors (including young entrepreneurs), and Kids Corner. New in 2025, the Virginia-Highland Civic Association’s Tour of Homes joins the weekend festivities.

The Murphy’s Tree Lighting is another beloved Virginia Highland tradition. Each year on the first Thursday in December, Murphy’s kicks off the season with the lighting of their Christmas tree atop the restaurant, complete with caroling, hot cocoa, and even a visit from the Clauses.

Can I shop for fresh produce and locally made products in VaHi?

Yes! Meet us at the VaHi Farmers Market on Sunday mornings. Established in 2024, the market hosts 30 rotating vendors and produce farmers plus live music in the Highland Woodworking parking lot.

Does Virginia Highland have a family-friends Halloween fun?

Candy Crawl is a neighborhood favorite held the Wednesday before Halloween, inviting families to dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat at local businesses.

Is there a Mardi Gras celebration in VaHi?

Yes! The inaugural Virginia Highland Mardi Gras Fest brings beads, bites, and Bourbon Street vibes to the heart of Atlanta with a lively parade and neighborhood party.
